Attention all Ducks Lacrosse Alumni, Friends, and Family!

As our Fall Ball kick off nears, we wanted to take a moment to share what we have going on in Eugene! With our goal of building the premier program in the MCLA, we are working hard behind the scenes and want to share our progress and some upcoming events.

Join the Squad

Tryouts for the team officially start on October 7th. We could not be more excited about the way the team is coming together! The Ducks secured one of the top recruiting classes in the country. Joining our returning players, we have 28 incoming freshmen from 12 different states. This group includes 22 High School All-Conference selections, 7 Team MVP’s, 4 League MVP’s, 3 All-American selections, and 2 NCAA transfers. Along with this talented group, we return PNCLL Offensive MVP John Finnegan, 1st Team FOGO TJ Johnson, 1st Team Defense Will Pyne, and 2nd Team Defense Sam Criscola. Overall we return 6 starters and countless guys that look to make serious contributions this year. We could not be more excited for the potential of these student-athletes and are excited to get to work. The future looks very bright! We have our sights set on the MCLA Championship trophy!

Coaches

Along with the fresh faces on the field, we have beefed up our coaching staff as well. We are waiting for the ink to dry and have not made the formal announcements, but we have added 4 new coaches to the staff. The defensive side of the field will be run by a 4-year NCAA goalie and current MLL player. He will be assisted by a 17 year coach hailing from Boston, MA. On the offensive side, we have hired Nick Lamay. Nick has a great offensive mind and comes to us highly regarded. He played his college ball at Utah Valley University and has been coaching at various levels over the past 4 years. 1stTeam All PNCLL attackman Austin Olsen is returning as a graduate assistant and will be working primarily with our attack unit.

Ducks Online

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new website! Moving forward, any and all information regarding our team will be able to be found at – www.uomenslacrosse.com. We have secured a partnership and will have all our games streamed live or on demand. Go to our website on gameday and watch us play from the comfort of your home!

Fall Ball Announcments

Our Fall Ball schedule consists of 4 home scrimmages, highlighted by our 1st annual Alumni/Parent Weekend! This will be the start of a new tradition for our program, and we could not be more excited to share it with you! For the first time ever, we have designated a whole weekend to our alumni. We are pleased to announce three alumni into our inaugural Hall of Fame Class. All three men have contributed to our past success on and off the field and are models for our continued success as ducks. The confirmed agenda for the weekend will be sent out shortly, but the tentative itinerary consists of a joint practice Thursday followed by a night out reconnecting with teammates and other alumni; our Alumni game Friday followed by our banquet and Hall of Fame inductions. Saturdays are for Tailgating and UO Football so join us on gameday at Autzen Stadium. Sunday morning we will be holding an informational meeting for families of current players followed by an alumni meeting about our plans for the future. We encourage any families and alumni who are interested in helping to attend. We will be discussing our programs current affairs, ways to get involved this season, future events and various other things. Our goals are set high this year so we need everyone's support as we head into the year. This weekend is just the beginning!

To allow an event of this size and importance run smoothly, RSVP by email to lacrosse@uoregon.edu or on uomenslacrosse.com. We look forward to your reservations to make this weekend a special one! Please join us in celebrating our past while building our future!

PNCLL Tournament 2020

For the first time ever, the PNCLL Championship Tournament will be held in Eugene! We have secured the bid to host and can’t wait to showcase our home to the rest of the conference in our quest to become the 4-peat champion of the PNCLL D1! Details on this event will be announced on our website throughout the season.

In closing, I want to thank everyone for your support. We are looking forward to a great season, and meeting each one of you at a game or event soon. Please continue to check our social media platforms @UOLacrosse for updates and news. We hope to see everyone at our Alumni/Parent weekend!

GO DUCKS!
